Backpackers today have warned about the dangerous realities of Vietnam motorbike tours after a British teenager tragically died on a dangerous mountain road.

Tourists who survived the Ha Giang loop spoke out to caution those traveling to South East Asia this summer following the death of Orla Wates.

The 19-year-old from London was a passenger on a bike with a local guide when they crashed, resulting in her being run over by an oncoming truck.

Her parents, Andrew and Harriet Wates, made the decision to donate her organs to patients in Vietnam, saving the lives of three individuals.

They emphasized Orla’s love for the country and did not blame anyone for the accident.
